Columbus Museum of Art
The Columbus Museum of Art’s original building was designed in the Second Renaissance Revival style, featuring limestone and concrete walls with a copper, hipped roof. The new Margaret M. Walter wing adds 50,000 square feet, a sculpture garden, as well as a shop and public café, expanding the project’s footprint into the downtown community. The expansion embraces the bold materiality of the original construction, while adding a modern aesthetic, utilizing limestone blocks, curtainwall glass, and custom rapid patinated copper panels on both interior and exterior surfaces.
