Saint Benedict’s Chapel
Designed by Pritzker Prize winning Architect Peter Zumthor, the simplistic, yet, intricately crafted chapel is firmly situated amidst a protective alpine forest in the Sumvitg Village. Framed by stunning mountain views, the structure uses wooden shingles and modest wooden columns to merge within its context. The singular interior space is brilliantly lit by high bay clerestory windows that completely surround the oval-leaf shaped roof structure above.
